The Odyssey Tape Conversion Problem

I have a feeling that a lot of the more skeptical users on this forum are gonna have the same stupid question: "If these Odyssey tapes are so cool, why not post them online?"
The simple answer: we can't! Buzz off!
The long answer: there's some kind of issue with the Odyssey tapes that causes digital uploads of their contents to degrade really, really bad--like, more than usual when you convert a tape and load it in QuickTime. I've seen some people say that the mpeg upload of the footage was fine the first couple of times they played it, but that they rapidly deteriorated on subsequent viewings. As an example, here's a still from an attempted digital conversion of the "I Want My Video Beat" tape:
So yeah. At best, we're stuck with crappy still images, so descriptions will have to suffice. You gotta take this on faith. Sorry, folks.
